On behalf of the Program Committee, it’s our pleasure to current the p- ceedings of the sixth GI Worldwide Convention on Detection of Intrusions and Malware, and Vulnerability Evaluation (DIMVA). Since 2004, DIMVA yearly brings collectively main researchers and practitioners from academia, authorities and trade to current and talk about novel safety analysis. DIMVA is organized by the Particular Curiosity Group Safety-Intrusion Detection and Response (SIDAR)-of the German Inf- matics Society (GI). The DIMVA 2009 Program Committee obtained 44 submissions from ind- trial and educational organizations from 17 di?erent international locations. Every submission was rigorously reviewed by a minimum of three Program Committee members or ext- nal specialists. The submissions had been evaluated on the idea of scienti?c novelty, significance to the ?eld and technical high quality. The ?nal choice occurred on the Program Committee assembly held on March 23, 2009, in Brussels, Belgium. Ten full papers and three prolonged abstracts had been chosen for presentation and publication within the convention proceedings. TheconferencetookplaceduringJuly9-10,2009, atVillaGallia, LakeComo, Italy, with this system grouped into ?ve classes. Two keynote speeches had been introduced by Richard A. Kemmerer (College of California, Santa Barbara) and HenryStern (Ironport/ Cisco).The conferenceprogramwascomplemented by the Seize-the-Flag contest CIPHER (Challenges in Informatics: Progr- ming, Internet hosting and ExploRing) organized by Lexi Pimenidis (iDev GmbH) and a rump session organized by Sven Dietrich (Stevens Institute of Know-how). A profitable convention is the results of the joint e?ort of many individuals. Particularly, we want to thank all of the authors who submitted contributions.
